Driving assistance and safety

A stereo camera, positioned behind the windscreen near the interior mirror, is able to detect oncoming traffic, vehicles in front and crossing vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.

In addition to the camera, up to twelve ultrasonic sensors, two multi-mode radar sensors in the sides at the rear and one long-range radar sensor are used, depending on the model. For the Driving Assistance package Plus, there are also two multi-mode radars fitted in the sides at the front.

Parking

In addition to the parking sensors, networked cameras in the radiator grille, tailgate and exterior mirror housings provide images of the vehicle's surroundings

for all sides of the vehicle and for a visualisation from a bird's-eye view.

Light and sight

A wealth of equipment allows optimum adaptation of the headlamps to the surroundings.

By way of example, the darkness, oncoming traffic or speed can be taken into account to provide better illumination.

Suspension

Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive also promotes comfort. As an option, a camera can analyse the road condition and detect unevenness, for example.
