Employee Volunteer Programme

The IT Employee Volunteer Programme (EVP) at MBSA is a divisional initiative that unites employees with a shared mission to give back to the community. Under the slogan "Get Engaged, Be Inspired", the EVP forum offers employees opportunities to donate their time, skills, and resources to a range of volunteering and fundraising activities. As part of MBSA’s wider Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, the EVP forum encourages active participation in meaningful projects that positively impact communities where MBSA operates while fostering a culture of inclusion and team spirit within the organisation.

The EVP forum focuses on two main areas: fundraising and giving back. Employees are responsible for raising funds for the programme through events like bake sales, talent shows, and raffles, which also serve as team-building activities. The primary beneficiary of the EVP forum’s charitable efforts is the Masizakhe Children's Home in Mdantsane; however, support also extends to other local organisations and larger plant initiatives. Notable events include a successful Christmas gift handover that provided essential school supplies to 70 students at Masizakhe, and the Valentine's Day Talent Show, which featured a wide range of performances and raised funds through ticket sales, roses, and chocolates. These events not only make a difference in the community but also strengthen camaraderie and support within the MBSA team.
