While we are in lockdown, we recommend that to ensure your vehicle’s battery health, you start and run the engine for 15-20 minutes at least once every week. This will ensure that your vehicle has a smooth start-up once the lockdown has ended.

We are continuously monitoring the exceptional circumstances surrounding us so that we can keep you informed and minimise any impact that we have control over.

Thank you for your support and please stay safe and stay healthy.

Can I still contact my Retailer?

Following the South African government’s announcement, all Mercedes-Benz dealerships are closed as of 27 March 2020. Our dealerships will be closed for services, but still available for sales enquiries on a limited basis. Our Roadside Assist will continue, for your safety, with the appropriate precautions in place.

Please be aware that Mercedes-Benz SA has an obligation to abide by legislation limiting the level of support to individuals not deemed as essential service providers. Due to this and other limitations, MBSA cannot guarantee that vehicles towed to a dealership will be repaired immediately, nor can we offer alternative mobility by means of a rental. Priority will be given to vehicles required for essential services, as defined by Government. This can be confirmed by means of an official permit giving you permission to travel as an essential service provider. Priority will be given to vehicles related to medical requirements (doctors, nurses, EMTs, pharmacists, social workers), medicine and food delivery/manufacturing, and the like. Vehicles not related to essential services will be attended to as soon as possible.

As always, you’re able to book a service using our online booking form – please note that workshop availability will be dependent on when government gives non-essential businesses the go-ahead to resume operations.

Will the car I have ordered arrive at the agreed time?

On 17 March 2020, Daimler decided to pause most of its production in Europe, as well as operations in certain administrative departments for at least two weeks. This follows the recommendations of international, national and local authorities. The interruption applies to Daimler's passenger car, van and truck plants in Europe. Linked to this is an interruption of global supply chains, which cannot currently be fully maintained. An extension of this measure depends on further developments. We will do everything we can to minimise the impact on orders and deliveries for you.
