COVID-19: Mercedes-Benz Notification

The current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic presents unprecedented challenges for all of us. The health, safety and security of our customers, staff, partners, and the communities in which we operate, is our top priority.

Since Monday 16th March, Mercedes-Benz South Africa Ltd has imposed a policy for non-essential staff to work from home wherever and whenever possible, with immediate effect and until further notice.

With the instruction from government to institute a state of National Emergency and a lockdown from midnight on 26 March to midnight on 16 April, our dealerships will be closed for services, but still available for sales enquiries on a limited basis. Our Roadside Assist will continue, for your safety, with the appropriate precautions in place.

As always, you’re able to book a service using our online booking form – please note that workshop availability will be dependent on when government gives non-essential businesses the go-ahead to resume operations.

How does the COVID-19 lockdown impact Warranty and Maintenance?

To put our customers at ease during this uncertain time, we have implemented the following:

  • In the event a customer’s vehicle is due for a service during the lockdown and the vehicle is still within the PremiumDrive contract, Mercedes-Benz South Africa will extend the service parameter by an extra 30 days or 1000km.
  • If a customer’s vehicle is due for a service and whose PremiumDrive is coming to an end during the lockdown period, Mercedes-Benz South Africa will cover the cost of the service and selected wear and tear items, provided the customer visits the dealer prior to 8 May 2020.

We are continuously monitoring the exceptional circumstances surrounding us so that we can keep you informed and minimise any impact that we have control over.

Thank you for your support and please stay safe and stay healthy.
