Safety is paramount in the Vito. In the event of an accident, vehicle occupants receive optimum protection from sophisticated seat-belt systems and best-in-class airbags.

All models come with a full-size front airbag for the driver and
co-driver.

To complement the driver and co-driver front airbags, a windowbag and thorax bag can be optionally equipped for driver and co-driver. In the event of a severe side impact, these airbags deploy on the side affected by the impact.

The windowbag serves to increase the degree of protection for the head of the occupants. It deploys in the area of the side windows.

Housed in the outside bolsters of the seat backrests, thorax bags are designed to provide increased protection for the upper torso of the seat occupant.

The Vito features 3-point seat belts for all seats as standard. Driver and front passenger are also provided with seat-belt tensioners that instantly tighten the belt against the body in the event of a collision.

The seat-belt warning device for the driver and front-passenger seats raises passive safety standards. A visual and audible signal reminds the driver (and passenger) to fasten their seat belts when the vehicle moves off.
