Today it is just one of many components of the integral safety concept which edges us ever closer to our vision of accident-free driving.

State-of-the-art restraint systems meet the traditionally stringent requirements of Mercedes-Benz regarding passive safety.

A secure holding: The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is equipped with three-point seat belts featuring belt tensioners and belt force limiters as standard.
Always there when you need it: The comprehensive safety equipment range also boasts eight airbags: Two adaptive airbags for the driver and front seat passenger, one driver kneebag, two sidebags integrated in the seats and two separate windowbags.
Light and resistant to deformation: The body of the SLS AMG boasts outstanding rigidity and a deformation capacity that can absorb the energy of a collision and protecting the occupants from injury. The SLS AMG bodyshell is made of an aluminium space frame weighing only 241 kg. This exclusive design combines intelligent lightweight construction with outstanding strength, enabling uncompromisingly dynamic handling. It goes without saying that the aluminium space frame meets all passive safety and body quality requirements specified for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
