The standard-specification COMAND multimedia system on board the SL provides entertainment and navigation from a central source. Standard navigation functions and films are shown on the 16.5 cm colour display. It is even possible to watch television. The 6-disc CD/DVD changer for audio or video is within easy reach and Media Interface (including a consumer cable kit) enables COMAND to connect to any USB data source, iPod® or Aux-In – for playing music or videos from an external hard drive, for example.

The standard COMAND APS system features an integrated hard drive containing the navigation software (leaving the CD drive free for other discs) and 4 GB of memory for audio files in MP3 or WMA formats. And thanks to the LINGUATRONIC voice-operated control system, COMAND APS also responds to voice commands for audio, telephone and navigation functions.

Sound that resonates like in a concert hall is guaranteed thanks to the standard Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround-sound system. It features ten high-performance speakers – including two surround-sound boxes and a subwoofer – to ensure a rich sound experience. And Dolby Digital Technology generates a cinema-quality sound.
