The exterior design of the SL 63 AMG

The muscular lines of the SL 63 AMG really come into their own thanks to the AMG styling. Its impressive AMG bonnet and AMG dynamic spoiler lip at the rear define the image of a supercar. An AMG sports exhaust system with its two twin chromed tailpipes rounds off the image. The SL 63 AMG stands firmly on triple-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels, 255/35 R 19 on the front axle, and 285/30 R 19 on the rear axle. Behind the front wheels the AMG high-performance brake system with composite discs and 6-piston brake callipers are clearly visible. And their performance is just as powerful as their visual impact – in true AMG style, designed for maximum performance.

The interior of the SL 63 AMG

In the interior, too, the SL 63 AMG show off its sporty character. AMG Carbon-fibre trim elements, AMG entrance strips in brushed stainless steel and the AMG instrument cluster with a 320 km/h scale and Racetimer all give powerful indications at first glance of the high performance that can be expected of this sporting legend.

The engineering deployed in the SL 63 AMG

First the power then the passion. The SL 63 AMG combines both thanks to its 6.3-litre, 8-cylinder engine
which delivers 386 kW and up to 630 Nm of torque. Power is transferred by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission, which combines the spontaneity of a manual transmission with the convenience of an automatic. The sports transmission gives you the choice of four driving programmes. You can opt for the characteristics of dynamic manual gear-changing, through to comfortable cruising - it’s your decision on how the power of the SL 63 AMG will unfold. In addition, the SL 63 AMG is equipped with Hill-Start Assist. This prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards unintentionally on a slope when moving from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
These features, like all the other dynamic handling control functions, can be controlled centrally thanks to the AMG DRIVE UNIT. Furthermore, the AMG sports transmission features a Race Start function for optimal acceleration with the best possible traction – just as in the world of motorsport.

The Active Body Control (ABC) active suspension provides the maximum driving comfort for sports car driving through a combination of active suspension and passive damping. With it, the sprung mass vibrations of the vehicle body when pulling away and braking can be reduced just as significantly as vehicle roll when cornering.
