When you have vision, you need the strength to realise it before others do. In the S 63 AMG this power is supplied by the 6.3-litre AMG V8 naturally-aspirated engine, which develops 386 kW (525 hp) and peak torque of 630 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.6 seconds. Equally as impressive, at least, is the way this power is controlled – with an AMG high-performance composite braking system, AMG sports suspension and AMG sports steering wheel with aluminium shift paddles. The new active wheel load distribution, or crosswind stabilisation function, based on Active Body Control, contributes permanently to keeping the vehicle virtually immune to outside influences despite a highly dynamic driving style.
In the cockpit, the AMG instrument cluster with AMG main menu, including RACETIMER, tells you, for example, the motor oil temperature and the selected gear. The S 63 AMG expresses all its power to the beholder through the new AMG front apron, incl. AMG-specific LED daytime driving lamps, side skirts and new rear apron with diffuser in vehicle body colour. Features specific to the S 63 AMG are the AMG sports exhaust system with two oval-shaped twin tailpipes as well as high-sheen multi-spoke 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in titanium grey. Optional extras exclusively available for the S 63 AMG and the S 65 AMG include 20-inch twin-spoke AMG forged wheels, in a polished titanium grey finish.
