The new-generation R-Class combines optimum loading space with luxurious seating comfort. Whether for travelling, family use or leisure activities, the variable seat variants and impressive comfort on long journeys in the R-Class ticks virtually all the boxes.

Whether you’re travelling with one or two other people or even a large family, there’s plenty of room for everyone. Available in two wheelbase and three seat variants, the R-Class offers outstanding comfort for up to seven people.

The driver and front passenger are treated to luxurious Executive Chairs (also available for the two second-row outer seats in the five-seater model). Variability is the name of the game in the back. In addition to the 5-seater, there’s an optional 4+2 configuration including a second rear seat bench. The luxurious individual seats with wide, well-upholstered armrests deliver maximum comfort to the second seat row. The R-Class is also available with a 5+2-seat option, featuring air suspension and level control on the rear axle.

As a family car, young passengers are an absolutely priority in the R-Class. The second seat row can accommodate up to three child seats. The outer seats are fitted with ISOFIX child-seat anchor points, which enable the child seats to be anchored directly to the vehicle chassis.

The optional automatic child-seat recognition system can deactivate the front-passenger airbag in conjunction with a corresponding child seat from Mercedes-Benz Accessories.

Completely folding down the seats creates a generous loading area extending from the front-seat backrests to the tailgate. With a load-compartment length of 1.95 m and a width of 1.25 m, the R-Class is the most spacious Mercedes-Benz passenger car. It can comfortably accommodate as many as six suitcases. And loading is easy thanks to a low loading sill height of 714 mm.

To satisfy higher space requirements, the length of the R-Class long-wheelbase version is extended by 23.5 cm. It offers a load-compartment length of 2.19 m and a maximum capacity of 2436 litres in the 5-seat configuration (2385 litres in the 4+2 and 5+2-seater versions). With an increase of 435 litres over the standard version, there is plenty of space for a surfboard, mountain bike or any number of holiday souvenirs.
