The BlueEFFICIENCY models of the E-Class Estate

There are a number of BlueEFFICIENCY models available for the E-Class Estate, equipped with environmentally friendly technologies or comprehensive special features.

Efficiency technologies in the E-Class Estate

BlueTEC catalytic converter technology uses the reactant AdBlue® to purify exhaust gases. This makes it possible to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90%. This exceptionally clean diesel technology is implemented in the E 350 BlueTEC. It already complies with the future Euro 6 emissions class.

The latest-generation CDI diesel engines combine irresistible performance characteristics with low consumption. Injection pressure has been increased, smoothness of operation enhanced and noise levels optimised – while reduced compression makes for lower emission levels.

Direct injection, increased compression and turbocharging in the CGI engines enable top torque, output and noise reduction figures. Innovative engine technology makes it possible to significantly reduce emissions and fuel consumption compared with previous models.

Packages of measures in the E-Class Estate

All the E-Class BlueEFFICIENCY models are equipped with numerous different features according to the type of fuel used and engine fitted. These are, for instance:

  • Engine optimisations
  • Intelligent energy management
  • Driver information for energy-saving driving
  • Aerodynamic optimisation thanks to inner radiator louvres
  • ECO start/stop function, which switches the engine off when in neutral and thus saves fuel
