This is made possible by a world first. An innovative system comprising a wind deflector mounted on the roof frame and a special draught-stop between the rear head restraints serves to push the air flow arc above the passenger compartment. The AIRCAP draught-stop system (optional) developed by Mercedes-Benz ensures a quieter and more comfortable ride in all seats.

The innovative AIRSCARF neck-level heating system (standard) extends the open-top season. At the push of a button, the driver and front passenger are treated to warm air circulated like a warm scarf around the neck and shoulders. The fully power-adjustable fabric roof can be closed quickly when travelling at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Available in four colours and comprising several layers of weather-proof fabric, the soft top is opened and closed by simply lifting and holding the roof switch.

An interior climate tailored to personal requirements enhances driving pleasure and boosts stress-reducing safety. The interior temperature can be individually regulated for two or three zones. THERMATIC automatic climate control (included as standard for E 250 and E 350) maintains temperatures at levels selected by the driver and front passenger. And the THERMOTRONIC (standard on E 500) luxury automatic climate control ensures a customised climate in three interior zones.
