BlueEFFICIENCY from Mercedes-Benz stands for pioneering efficiency technologies as well as innovative packages of measures based on optimising fuel consumption and emission levels.

There are six BlueEFFICIENCY models available for the E-Class Cabriolet, equipped with environmentally friendly technologies and extensive special measures.

Efficiency technologies in the E-Class Cabriolet

The latest-generation CDI diesel engines display compelling performance characteristics coupled with low consumption levels. Injection pressure has been increased to up to 2000 bar, smoothness of operation enhanced and noise levels optimised, while reduced compression makes for lower emission levels.

Direct injection, increased compression and turbocharging in the new CGI engines enable top torque, output and noise reduction figures. Innovative engine technology makes it possible to significantly reduce emissions and fuel consumption compared with previous models.

BlueEFFICIENCY measures - the Mercedes-Benz efficiency package

All the E-Class BlueEFFICIENCY models are equipped with numerous different features according to the type of fuel used and engine fitted. These are, for instance:

  • Aerodynamic underbody trim panelling and add-on parts
  • Aerodynamically optimised body design
  • On-demand steering servo pump
  • ECO start/stop function
  • Diesel engines with 4th generation common-rail technology
  • Altered rear axle ratios
  • Controlled fuel pump
  • Highly efficient petrol engines with turbocharging and direct injection
  • Intelligent generator management
  • Tyres with a low rolling resistance
